Thanks Nic!!

This is the latest card I made for our last summer student who is leaving us this week. She was with us last summer also and I certainly enjoyed working with her again this year!!

I was away on holidays last week and lapsed in the blogging posts. I missed the VSN this weekend on Splitcoast Stampers, but I am hoping to do a few of the challenges and post some of my creations through this week. I have to send out my Sept BRAKs also.

Anyways, thanks so much for stopping by and as always I would love to know what you think!!

I was happy to get to play this week's ways to use it challenge. The challenge for thursday was ways to use versamark. I used it over my chocolate chip tree and then embossed it with bronze ep. You can see a bit of the effect of 3D. I also added some little birds in the tree with some pop dots and added some taffeta ribbon... This is a lot different from cards I have usually done, but I am very happy with the end result. The main color is craft. I added a craft piece to the inside and used the corner punch on it also. I added a couple of birds in the buckaroo blue ink and then put Thinking of You in Purely Pomegranate.

Thanks so much for popping by today! I was excited to share this one with you! Take care!

Another for Andrew

Ok, I decided I really didn't like the last card I had made for Andrew, and then after my son had written on it somehow it was misplaced. Which I was OK with because I had decided I didn't want to send it along... it was a bit ugly! I admit it! It was a "what was I thinking???" I asked my DS why he didn't tell me and he said he didn't want to hurt my feelings... lol! So I told him he needed to tell me when the cards are ones for kids and he had a definite opinion on them... :) So anyways, I think this one is much better suited. Carter is going to write it out again and we are going to send it off to Andrew...

Thanks for coming by. I love the visits and always love reading your feedback!

Fancy Girl!

This is a card I made for fun. I had been thinking about applying for the Bombshell Stamps DT, but I didn't make the cut off in time as a bunch of events came up and I ran out of time. It must have been a sign that it wasn't the time yet. I will be watching for the spring call, though and I will still be participating in the monthly blog hops!!! That said, however, I think that this card turned out pretty cute! I really love the Bombshells, and enjoy creating with them. This one isn't so risque as some of the ones I have done, but I like that about it. I can add a fun saying and send it off to a girlfriend or sister or my mom and it's all good...

I paper pieced her suit and with it still being a bit of summer (and I have only started my holidays...) I think I can get away with it... :)

Thanks again for coming by and as always I would love to know what you think!

No knots or bows...

I made this card for the try a new technique challenge. It was to use ribbon in ways other than using knots or bows. There was also a mini tutorial on making ribbon butterflies. Sooooo... this is what I came up with! I used some darling ladybug ribbon for the butterflies and tied it with some red twine. I also used a technique for my ribbon I saw over on Cabio's blog. I tried it on the green ribbon to give a bit of texture and dimension without useng a knot. Thanks Cabio!!!

So it has very minimal ink on it, but I am pretty happy with the way it turned out!! Thanks for coming by today and as always I would love to know what you think!

Well, the photo of this is terrible, but it is already gone and being signed for a fellow at work who is finished his term this week. I wish the photo had been better. It is just a simple card and I wanted to make sure he knew we all appreciated him and would miss him around the lab. I think he will like it OK...

Just a quick post. It is finally the weekend and I am starting a 2 week vacation from work! Yea! So I hope to put up a few post this upcoming week and then schedule at least 2 for the next week for you to enjoy. I should have a bit of extra time to play!!! :)

Thanks for coming by and don't forget to leave a note for me!

I just love these Magnolia images I got from my virtual friend Cabio!! I decided to pair this one with some DP and an uplifting saying. I am pretty happy with how she turned out! It is pretty simple but with a couple extra touches I think it came together fairly well! I am happy to be blogging and stamping a bit more regularly these days.

I am going to do the bombshell stamps blog hop at the end of the month and it will be awesome! That one falls on the last Wednesday of the month so make sure you stop by then also...

Thanks for visiting today and be sure to leave me some feedback before you go!

For Andrew

Well I had a little time to stamp today and I came up with a card for the Teapot Tuesday challenge over on Splitcoast Stampers. The challenge is for Andrew - a 10 year old boy with multiple brain tumors who is going through a rough time right now. He loves baseball and plays on the Elm Grove Eagles. I didn't really have any good stamps to use for it, so I improvised a LOT. I wasn't sure how I felt about the outcome, but my 7 yo thought it turned out pretty cool. He even wrote in the card to send off to Andrew. So I kept it... You can read about his story and the challenge here.

Anyhoo, thanks for coming by and as always, I would love your feedback! I am off to address the envelope and get this "puppy" ready to mail!

This is a card I tackled for the try a new technique challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers this past Monday. The challenge was to ink a solid stamp in a lighter color. Then choose 2 different darker colors and using the edge of the ink pad judge lines across the image in a plaid design. I was not too sure about this challenge, but I think it turned out alright for my first try. It is also pretty simple but I didn't want an over done look and I experimented with some colors I don't usually use and sponging in 3 colors. I am planning to give it to my neighbour who starts her police training tomorrow. I just want her to know she is in my thoughts!

For a princess...

I made this card for my little sister for her birthday. I really wanted to try working outside my usual colors as I seem to be using quite a lot of pinks lately. I decided to use a nice bright red and tone it down with a more subdued blue. I actually am quite pleased with how this turned out! I didn't overdo it at all yet it does come off complete to me.

Thanks again for coming by. I hope you are not getting bored with my work. I love posting it and reading what you have to say!!

Thanks for your patience...

I made this card as my reveal card for my secret sis. I was VERY late getting out her June reveal. I had been waiting for an order and then when it arrived I found the one specific item I had ordered for her was on back order! Just my luck... I got this image from sugar nellie as a digi file. I do love it but I hadn't realized it was a digi and I always have trouble coloring the images with the printer I have. The background is stamped with a flower background from SU! sprinkles set which didn't show up very great in my scan.

Thanks for coming by and as always I would love your feedback!

Happy Birthday!

Well I got a bit back on track today. I was away the weekend and I have a few birthdays I need to prepare for this month, so I got a bit inspired! The only frustaring thing is that my camera died and my scanner never seems to pick up my one pink copic color and it always looks white!!! RRRRRR.... Oh well. I will repost this one when I get some batteries because it looks WAY better irl. I used this cute image I received from Cabio and I just love coloring them! I do need to work on it better though. And I feel like I have not colored in forever!

Thanks or dropping by by poor neglected blog!! I am going to make an effort to get back into my blogging groove! Take care and let me know what you think!
